TroTrof - Cable Troughing System

State-of-the-art cable troughing system and winner of a Network Rail environment award for innovation.

TroTrof has been specifically designed for the UK rail network and can be fitted as a stand-alone cable housing solution or integrated into existing concrete cable trough infrastructures. This versatility makes TroTrof perfect for cable troughing maintenance installations and upgrade projects.

Approved by Network Rail
Developed in collaboration with rail network engineers, TroTrof is the first polymer cable troughing system to be approved by Network Rail.

100% Recycled Polymer

Manufactured from 100% recycled polymer and weighing 17kg per unit, TroTrof’s patented technology is light enough to be compliant with HSE manual handling guidelines, yet strong enough to tolerate loads of up to 20 tonnes. It has also been awarded a green rated status in Network Rail’s Manual Handling Assessment Chart (MAC).

Flexible

TroTrof is easy to cut with standard hand tools, making it ideal for projects that require on site alterations. Its interlocking modular system is particularly suitable for hard to access sites where steep inclines or weight bearing is an issue.

Reduced Handling and Haulage Costs

Each TroTrof unit is rigorously tested to ensure it remains robust during transportation and installation. Combined with its lightweight properties, it requires less handling and haulage resources compared to traditional concrete cable troughing systems, resulting in greater cost savings and reduced carbon emissions.

Why Choose TroTrof Instead of Traditional, Concrete, Cable Troughing Systems?

TroTrof®
Lightweight (Total weight of 19Kg).
HSE compliant for a 'One Man Lift'.
Ease of cutting - can use hand tools.
No smoke
No dust
Reduced noise pollution
Ease of handling - complete unit can be lifted. Smooth finish - no abrasion to cable sheaths.
Designed for easy grip.
0% breakages.
Reduced truck movements. 10,000 TroTrof® = 10 truck loads.
Concrete
Heavyweight (Total weight 88Kg).
Requires a 'Three Man Lift'.
Requires the use of power tools.
Smoke generation
Excessive dust
Ear protectors required
Cumbersome to handle. Trough and lid needs separate manual handling. Abrasive finish - gloves need to be worn.
Up to 30% rejection rates reported (NR figures).
Increased truck movements. 10,000 concrete troughs = 40 truck loads.
